H.R. 3367 — Improving Training for School Food Service Workers Act of 2025

This section establishes requirements for training programs carried out under state administrative expense grants for child nutrition programs (i.e., including the National School Lunch Program), including that such programs for local food service personnel must (1) be scheduled during regular paid working hours, (2) be offered in-person if appropriate, (3) incorporate experiential learning, and (4) be provided at no cost to personnel. If a training program is scheduled outside regular paid working hours, the section requires (1) advance notice of the necessity, (2) consultation with personnel for minimal disruption, (3) compensation at the regular rate (including overtime), and (4) no penalties or discrimination for non-attendance. The section specifies that these requirements do not supersede or modify other federal, state, or local employment laws.
