No CRS summary available for this bill.
This section establishes a prohibition on service in the Armed Forces by any person who (1) has a current diagnosis or history of, or exhibits symptoms consistent with, gender dysphoria; or (2) has a history of gender affirming care, including cross-sex hormone therapy or sex reassignment or genital reconstruction surgery as treatment for gender dysphoria or in pursuit of a sex transition. The section further requires the Secretary concerned to administratively discharge any covered service member; exempts such members from reimbursing educational or other benefits or completing service obligations if no other separation basis exists; and directs the Secretary of Defense to reinvestigate and readjudicate (or revoke) eligibility for access to classified information for those discharged members who previously held such eligibility.
