H.R. 3414 — Joshua Tree National Park Expansion Act

This section expands the boundary of Joshua Tree National Park to include approximately 20,149 acres of land generally depicted on the map entitled “Joshua Tree National Park Proposed Boundary Addition” (numbered 156/193,676, dated June 2024); transfers administrative jurisdiction over that land from the Bureau of Land Management to the National Park Service; and authorizes the Secretary of the Interior to acquire land or interests in land within the park boundary by donation, purchase from a willing seller, exchange, or transfer (with land owned by the State of California or its political subdivisions acquirable only by donation or exchange).

This section makes a technical correction in Section 1433(a) of the John D. Dingell, Jr. Conservation, Management, and Recreation Act (Public Law 116-9) by replacing “156/149,375” with “156/149,375A” each place it appears.

This section redesignates the Cottonwood Visitor Center at Joshua Tree National Park—or any successor—as the Dianne Feinstein Visitor Center. Any reference to the Cottonwood Visitor Center in any U.S. law, map, regulation, document, paper, or other record is deemed a reference to the Dianne Feinstein Visitor Center.
