§2. Adverse childhood experiences response team grant program
This section establishes a grant program under the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 for adverse childhood experiences response teams. The Attorney General, in coordination with the Secretary of Health and Human Services, may award grants to states, units of local government, Indian Tribes, and neighborhood or community-based organizations to address adverse childhood experiences associated with child exposure to trauma, including by (1) establishing protocols and referral partnerships, (2) integrating law enforcement, mental health, and crisis services, (3) implementing support programs, (4) identifying barriers to trauma-informed care, (5) providing training to response providers and community partners, (6) supporting cross-system collaboration, and (7) offering technical assistance. Authorizes $10 million for each of FY2026 through FY2029.
