H.R. 3710 — Loved Ones Interment Act

This section authorizes the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to furnish a headstone or marker for a cremated eligible veteran (for whom an urn or commemorative plaque is provided under 38 U.S.C. § 2306(h)(1)) if the veteran is interred at the same burial site as another individual eligible for national cemetery burial under 38 U.S.C. § 2402(a), the headstone or marker includes information on both individuals, and the inclusion does not increase costs beyond the maximum allowed by law. (As background, 38 U.S.C. § 2306 requires the VA to furnish headstones or markers for the graves of eligible veterans and certain family members and, for cremated remains, urns or commemorative plaques.)
