H.R. 3882 — RIPPLE Act of 2025

This section authorizes the Attorney General to reimburse states and political subdivisions for costs incurred for wages (as defined in the Internal Revenue Code), including overtime compensation as defined in the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA; 29 U.S.C. 207), and salaries paid to officers or employees performing functions under a 287(g) agreement. (As background, §287(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act authorizes the Department of Homeland Security to enter into voluntary agreements with states and localities under which designated state or local officers and employees may, with supervision, perform specified immigration enforcement functions.)
