H.R. 412 — To authorize the Bay Mills Indian Community of the State of Michigan to convey land and interests in land owned by the Tribe.

This section authorizes the Bay Mills Indian Community of Michigan to transfer, lease, encumber, or otherwise convey all or part of its interest in any real property not held in trust by the United States for the Tribe's benefit, without further federal authorization or approval. The section clarifies that this authority does not apply to trust lands and shields the United States from liability for any terms or resulting losses from such transactions unless the United States is a party thereto or otherwise liable by law (except for lands conveyed by the Tribe to the United States to be held in trust).
