H.R. 417 — End U.N. Censorship Act

This section prohibits the use of federal funds by the Department of State or other agencies (1) to develop, implement, or support the iVerify tool developed by the United Nations Development Programme; (2) for any effort labeling speech or expression as mal-, mis-, or disinformation; (3) to make voluntary contributions to the United Nations or its entities supporting iVerify, similar platforms, or such labeling initiatives; or (4) to contribute to other international organizations for similar purposes. It further requires that any amounts withheld under this prohibition be permanently rescinded, deposited in the general fund of the Treasury, and not treated as arrears repayable to the United Nations or its entities.
