H.R. 4244 — Prohibition of Medicaid Funding for Conversion Therapy Act

This section requires state Medicaid plans to prohibit payments for conversion therapy—defined as any compensated practice or treatment seeking to change an individual's sexual orientation or gender identity (with specified exceptions for gender transition assistance and supportive counseling—beginning with the first day of the first quarter after enactment. It also prohibits federal financial participation for such services on or after that date.
