H.R. 4260 — To ensure the appropriate administration of the Impact Aid program.

This section prohibits the Secretary of Education from significantly altering the administration of the Impact Aid program under title VII of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (i.e., payments to local educational agencies for lost local tax revenue due to federal property ownership, such as military installations and Indian lands) from how the program was administered on January 1, 2025, except as required by federal law or court order. (Thus, the provision preserves the program's existing administrative practices.) It further requires the Secretary to certify compliance to Congress not later than 30 days after enactment and annually thereafter.
