This section reauthorizes multiple health professions education programs under the Public Health Service Act and provides specified appropriations for each for FY2026 through FY2030 (generally extending from prior authorizations through FY2025), as follows: (1) $28,422,000 annually for centers of excellence (i.e., grants to designated health professions schools and other entities to support education for underrepresented minority individuals, including pipeline development, faculty recruitment, and community-based training); (2) $55,014,000 annually for scholarships for disadvantaged students; (3) $2,310,000 annually for loan repayments and fellowships regarding faculty positions; (4) $16,000,000 annually authorized for educational assistance in health professions for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds; (5) $49,924,000 annually for primary care training and enhancement; (6) $42,673,000 annually for training in general, pediatric, and public health dentistry; (7) $47,000,000 annually for area health education centers (i.e., programs to improve distribution of health professionals in underserved areas through training and linkages); (8) $48,245,000 annually for education and training relating to geriatrics; (9) extends authorization for the National Center for Health Care Workforce Analysis through FY2030 (from FY2025), which conducts data analysis and forecasting of health workforce needs; (10) $18,000,000 annually for public health workforce development; and (11) $10,000,000 annually for the pediatric specialty loan repayment program.
