H.R. 4277 — Rural Emergency Hospital Financial Stability Act

This section amends the Medicaid definition of medical assistance (1) to include rural emergency hospital (REH) services—defined in Medicare statute section 1861(kkk) as emergency and limited outpatient services provided by certain converted rural facilities—within outpatient hospital services when available and (2) to include nursing facility services provided in a distinct part unit of an REH within nursing facility services for individuals with mental diseases. The amendments apply to services furnished on or after the date of enactment.
