H.R. 4348 — To reauthorize the Kay Hagan Tick Act, and for other purposes.

This section reauthorizes through 2030 (from 2025) the national strategy and regional centers of excellence for vector-borne diseases program (Section 317U of the Public Health Service Act). It revises that program by (1) simplifying the requirement to consult the Tick-Borne Disease Working Group and others in developing the strategy to consulting appropriate individuals, and (2) expanding a grant purpose for regional centers to include increasing capacity to identify, report, prevent, and respond to such diseases. The section also reauthorizes through 2030 (from 2025) enhanced support grants to health departments to address vector-borne diseases (Section 2822(c)).
