H.R. 4486 — Microplastics Safety Act

This section directs the Secretary of Health and Human Services, acting through the Commissioner of Food and Drugs, to conduct a study on human health impacts of exposure to microplastics in food and water—identifying major exposure pathways and assessing effects on children's health, the endocrine system, cancer, chronic illness, and reproductive health (among other areas as appropriate)—and to submit a report to Congress with findings, conclusions, and recommendations for legislative or administrative action not later than one year after enactment.
