H.R. 450 — FORCE Act

This section prohibits the President or Secretary of State from removing Cuba from the list of state sponsors of terrorism—a designation for countries the Secretary determines have repeatedly provided support for acts of international terrorism under authorities such as section 620A of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 (22 U.S.C. 2371), which prohibits U.S. assistance to such countries—until the President makes the determination required by section 205 of the Cuban Liberty and Democratic Solidarity (LIBERTAD) Act of 1996 (22 U.S.C. 6065). It defines state sponsor of terrorism by reference to that designation under specified statutes.
