H.R. 4508 — BURDEN Act

This section prohibits a Member of Congress from enrolling in a Federal Employees Health Benefits Program (FEHBP) plan unless the Member submits to the Office of Personnel Management, for each month beginning on or after the date of enactment, (1) a written certification of community engagement for the month as required under Medicaid work requirements in section 1902(xx)(2) of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1396a(xx)(2)), and (2) a written certification of compliance with work requirements under the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 (7 U.S.C. 2011 et seq.) as if the Member were a member of a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) household.
