H.R. 4809 — INSPECT Act of 2025

This section requires the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to assign a resident inspector to each commercial nuclear power plant that has permanently ceased operations to conduct inspections of decommissioning activities and spent nuclear fuel transfer activities, for the duration required to transfer all spent nuclear fuel from spent fuel pools to dry storage. The Commission may reassign such an inspector to other duties if no relevant activities are occurring at the plant.
