H.R. 4938 — Facts First Act

This section limits removal of the Commissioner of Labor Statistics—who leads the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the principal U.S. government agency for labor economics data and statistics—to only for proof of inefficiency, neglect of duty, or malfeasance in office. (Previously, the commissioner held office for four years unless sooner removed.)
