H.R. 4950 — Data BRIDGE Act

This section directs the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to update, within 180 days of enactment, the National Broadband Map—compiling granular data on fixed and mobile broadband availability and quality under 47 U.S.C. 642(c)(1)(A)—to incorporate, as a layer, data on the location of agricultural areas and to thereafter maintain the map. In doing so, the FCC must consult with the Secretary of Agriculture (including on existing Department of Agriculture data), the Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Communications and Information, state representatives, and other relevant stakeholders.
