H.R. 5015 — To amend the District of Columbia Home Rule Act to extend the emergency period during which the President may exercise control over the Metropolitan Police Department.

This section revises section 740 of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act to extend the duration of presidentially declared emergencies in the District of Columbia from 30 days to 180 days (i.e., striking "thirty days" and inserting "180 days" each place it appears, and "thirty-day" to "180-day" in subsection (c)). The changes apply to emergencies declared before the date of enactment.
