H.R. 5044 — Safe Embassies Act

This section modifies the congressional notification requirement under the Diplomatic Security Act to require the Secretary of State, not later than 30 days before opening or reopening a high risk, high threat post (i.e., a U.S. diplomatic facility in a dangerous location), to provide the appropriate congressional committees with a detailed explanation of the national security value of reopening such a post.
