H.R. 5087 — FLIGHT Act

This section requires a covered air carrier (as defined in 49 U.S.C. §42307) operating a domestic or international flight with a delayed departure or taxi delay of 15 or more minutes to notify each passenger by email or text message at least once every 15 minutes until the delay ends. Notifications must include the new estimated departure and arrival times, as applicable, and a mechanism for passengers to opt out of such notifications for the flight.
