H.R. 5157 — Streamlining American Manufacturing Strategy Act

This section revises the strategic plan requirements for the Manufacturing USA Program—a NIST initiative supporting a network of institutes to enhance U.S. advanced manufacturing competitiveness, technology transition, workforce development, and regional innovation—by changing the update frequency to not less than once every 4 years (from every 3 years) and aligning it with the planning cycle for updates to the National Strategy for Advanced Manufacturing under the America COMPETES Reauthorization Act of 2010.
