H.R. 5196 — Protect Our Farmers and Families Act of 2025

This section cancels the registration of all uses of the pesticide diquat under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA), effective on the date of enactment, by deeming it to cause unreasonable adverse environmental effects; directs the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator to revoke any associated tolerances or exemptions for diquat residues in food under section 408(l)(2) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA); prohibits sale and use of existing stocks notwithstanding FIFRA provisions allowing such; and prohibits reregistration under FIFRA. (Thus, diquat is immediately banned from sale, distribution, and use, and residues are prohibited in or on food.)
