H.R. 5252 — HOPE Act

This section amends the State and Tribal comprehensive opioid response grant program (42 U.S.C. 290ee–3a) by (1) authorizing use of primary prevention funds for activities related to acquiring, making available, and maintaining public access opioid overdose reversal kits; and (2) defining a public access opioid overdose reversal kit as one that includes opioid overdose reversal medication and instructions on how to administer such medication. (As background, the program provides grants to states and Indian tribes to address opioid use disorders through prevention, treatment, recovery, and other activities.)
