This section amends allowable statewide activities and required local program elements for youth workforce investment programs under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). (1) It adds to statewide activities under WIOA §129(b)(2) public awareness campaigns and public service announcements—including social media campaigns and other media—about career and technical education programs and community-based organization programs that prepare eligible youth for high-skill, high-wage, or in-demand industry sectors or occupations in current or emerging professions, including skilled trades. (2) It revises local program elements under WIOA §129(c)(2)(M) to require services and opportunities providing labor market and employment information about such sectors or occupations available in the local area, such as career awareness, career counseling, and career exploration services.
