H.R. 5319 — LINE Act

This section prohibits the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Department of Health and Human Services from disclosing individually identifiable health information—obtained in relation to an individual's enrollment under a state Medicaid plan (or waiver) (title XIX of the Social Security Act)—to any person, including U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, for immigration law enforcement purposes. This prohibition applies notwithstanding the Privacy Act of 1974 (5 U.S.C. § 552a). (Thus, CMS and HHS may not share such Medicaid enrollee data with immigration authorities.)
