H.R. 5374 — Promoting Health Careers in Community and Technical Colleges Act

This section requires grantees under the Health Professions Opportunity Demonstration Project—which provides low-income individuals with education, training, supportive services, and career advancement opportunities in high-demand health care occupations—to train project participants to earn a recognized postsecondary credential, including an industry-recognized credential.

This section revises the definition of eligible institutions of higher education for grants to conduct health professions opportunity demonstration projects to include those described in 20 U.S.C. §§ 1001 and 1002(a)(1)(B) (previously, only § 1001). (Thus, this expands eligibility to community colleges.)
