H.R. 5381 — Opioid Treatment Providers Act

This section expands eligibility for Health Professions Opportunity Grants (HPOG)—which provide low-income individuals with education, training, supportive services (e.g., child care, case management), and career advancement opportunities in high-demand health care occupations—to include opioid treatment programs (as defined in SSA §1861(jjj)(2)) and other high quality comprehensive addiction care providers, in addition to previously eligible entities such as community-based organizations.
