H.R. 5393 — Southern Arizona Protection Act

This section nullifies Presidential Proclamation 7320 of June 9, 2000, which established the Ironwood Forest National Monument in Arizona. (Thus, the approximately 129,000-acre monument—designated to protect cultural, archaeological, and natural resources—is disestablished.) The section further prohibits any future establishment or extension of a national monument within the area generally depicted as the Ironwood Forest National Monument on the map titled “Ironwood Forest National Monument” dated June 12, 2000, except by express congressional authorization.
