H.R. 5398 — Pay Our Homeland Defenders Act of 2026

This section provides continuing appropriations, at a level of such sums as are necessary, for pay and allowances to certain Department of Homeland Security (DHS) personnel—including law enforcement officers in occupational series 0083, 1801, 1802, 1811, 1881, 1895, 1896, or 2181 (or successors); DHS employees or contractors necessary for administrative, payroll, and related functions; and U.S. Coast Guard members, civilians, and contractors—during any period in FY2026 or FY2027 without interim or full-year appropriations. The appropriations terminate upon the earlier of (1) enactment of an appropriation (including a continuing resolution) for these purposes, (2) enactment of a regular appropriations bill or continuing resolution without such an appropriation, or (3) January 1, 2027.
