H.R. 5414 — DAMS Act

This section amends the National Dam Safety Program Act (33 U.S.C. 467 et seq.) as follows: (1) strikes paragraph (4) of section 8(e), which authorizes assistance grants to State dam safety programs; (2) requires, under the Rehabilitation of High Hazard Potential Dams Program (i.e., grants to States for repairing eligible high-hazard potential dams), any State lacking a State-developed risk-based priority system to use the federal priority system for identifying such dams; and (3) extends the authorization of appropriations for that program through 2031 (from 2026).
