H.R. 543 — Iron Pipeline Review Act

This section directs the Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), in consultation with state and local law enforcement and other appropriate entities, to submit to the House and Senate Judiciary Committees, not later than one year after enactment and annually thereafter, a report on firearms trafficked along Interstate 95 that includes (1) an analysis of the number of such firearms by state of origin, make, and model; the effectiveness of counter-trafficking measures; specific local, state, and federal laws affecting trafficking numbers; and resulting directed actions; (2) recommendations, as appropriate, for federal, state, and local law enforcement to improve counter-trafficking measures; and (3) proposals, as appropriate, for legislative actions and funding to counter firearm trafficking.
