H.R. 5546 — Combating Hate Across Campus Act

This section requires postsecondary institutions to disaggregate hate crime statistics in annual campus security reports (i.e., Clery Act reports) by subcategory based on the identity of the targeted individual or group, as listed in the most recently available Hate Crime Data Collection Guidelines and Training Manual published by the FBI's Criminal Justice Information Services Division. (Previously, such data was required to be collected and reported only according to category of prejudice.)
