H.R. 5556 — Flight Refund Fairness Act

This section revises refund timing requirements for cancelled or significantly delayed or changed flights under 49 U.S.C. §42305(e). Specifically, it (1) requires refunds under paragraph (2) not later than the date described in subsection (b) (previously, promptly); and (2) requires ticket agents to provide refunds not later than 7 days after receiving funds transferred by the air carrier or foreign air carrier (new paragraph (3)(A)), with a conforming change to the reference in paragraph (3)(B).
