This section directs the Secretary of Defense to submit to the congressional defense committees, not later than 180 days after enactment, a report containing a study on whether, and to what extent, active duty pilots suffer traumatic brain injury from cumulative effects of high-speed maneuvers, catapult launches, and other repetitive actions. The report must include (1) results of the study; (2) a summary of existing Department of Defense policies and procedures for identifying, documenting, and treating mild, moderate, and severe traumatic brain injury among pilots; (3) a strategy to better identify, document, and treat such injuries; and (4) recommendations for potential regulatory and legislative actions to address related challenges.
