H.R. 5579 — ETA Act of 2025

This section codifies as law two final rules issued by the Secretary of Transportation: (1) the rule titled “Refunds and Other Consumer Protections,” published April 26, 2024 (89 Fed. Reg. 32760); and (2) the rule titled “Enhancing Transparency of Airline Ancillary Service Fees,” published April 30, 2024 (89 Fed. Reg. 34620). The section further directs the Secretary to issue regulations requiring air carriers to provide compensation of not less than $200 and not more than $500—depending on the length of the delay—to passengers arriving at a destination airport 3 or more hours after the scheduled arrival time on domestic flights or 6 or more hours on international flights.
