H.R. 5608 — To ensure that Write Your Own companies can sell private flood insurance products that compete with National Flood Insurance Program products.

This section prohibits the FEMA Administrator from restricting insurance companies, agents, brokers, or adjustment organizations participating in the Write Your Own (WYO) program under the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP)—or otherwise using FEMA facilities and services or engaging in other NFIP activities—from offering or selling private flood insurance (as defined in 42 U.S.C. 4012a(b)). (The WYO program enables private insurers to sell and service NFIP flood policies under their own brands.) It further directs the Administrator, after enactment, not to include any such restrictions in WYO program agreements.
