H.R. 5627 — GENERAL Act

This section requires the Secretary of Defense to submit to the congressional defense committees, not later than 15 days after the involuntary reassignment, separation, or retirement of a general or flag officer, a written notification containing (1) the rationale for the action, including whether it related to conduct, performance, policy disagreements, or other factors; and (2) a summary of the decision-making process, including any consultations with the Secretary of the military department concerned.
