H.R. 5721 — Protect Our Judiciary Act of 2025

This section revises the prohibition on picketing, parading, or demonstrations near federal courthouses or buildings or residences occupied or used by judges, jurors, witnesses, or court officers (18 U.S.C. 1507) by—(1) striking coverage of such buildings or residences from the intent-based prohibition, thereby limiting it to courthouses; and (2) inserting after the first sentence a new prohibition against whoever knowingly pickets or parades, or uses a sound-truck or resorts to any other demonstration, in or near a building or residence being used by such persons, punishable by fine or imprisonment for not more than one year. (Thus, no intent to interfere with justice or influence judicial participants is required for the new prohibition applicable to such buildings or residences.)
