H.R. 5732 — Keep Air Travel Safe Act

This section establishes authority for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to continue all programs, projects, and activities—including direct loans and loan guarantees—during a lapse in appropriations, using unobligated balances as of enactment from sec. 90003 of P.L. 119-21 (One Big Beautiful Bill Act). Operations must proceed at a rate for operations not exceeding the preceding fiscal year's regular appropriation act (or continuing resolution), subject to the same terms and conditions; funding is available from the first day of the lapse until the earlier of new appropriations or a continuing resolution becoming law, or 180 days thereafter, and continues into the next fiscal year if the lapse extends to fiscal year-end. (Thus, TSA's airport passenger screening and other security functions would operate without interruption for up to 180 days during a government shutdown.)
