H.R. 5789 — Donald J. Trump Congressional Gold Medal Act

This section states congressional findings recognizing President Donald J. Trump's negotiation of peace agreements, including between Israel and Hamas (October 2025), Armenia and Azerbaijan (August 8, 2025), the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda (June 20, 2025), Iran and Israel (June 23, 2025), India and Pakistan (May 12, 2025), Cambodia and Thailand (July 28, 2025), and Egypt and Ethiopia (June 15, 2025), as well as economic normalization between Kosovo and Serbia during his first term.

This section authorizes the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President pro tempore of the Senate to present a Congressional Gold Medal of appropriate design to President Donald J. Trump in recognition of his extraordinary peacemaking efforts worldwide and in facilitating the Trump peace agreement to end the war in Gaza and bring lasting peace to the Middle East. The Secretary of the Treasury shall strike the medal with suitable emblems, devices, and inscriptions.

This section authorizes the Secretary to strike and sell bronze duplicates of the gold medal struck pursuant to section 3, under regulations prescribed by the Secretary, at a price sufficient to cover the costs thereof, including labor, materials, dies, use of machinery, and overhead expenses.

This section designates medals struck pursuant to this Act as (1) national medals for purposes of chapter 51 of title 31, United States Code, and (2) numismatic items for purposes of sections 5134 and 5136 of title 31, United States Code.

This section authorizes charges against the United States Mint Public Enterprise Fund for the costs of medals struck pursuant to this Act and requires deposit of proceeds from the sale of duplicate bronze medals into that fund.
