H.R. 5852 — Upper Raritan River Watershed Wild and Scenic River Study Act of 2025

This section designates segments of the Upper Raritan River watershed in New Jersey—including the North Branch Raritan River from its headwaters to its confluence with the South Branch Raritan River; the South Branch Raritan River from its headwaters to its confluence with the North Branch Raritan River; the Lamington-Black River from its headwaters to its confluence with the North Branch Raritan River; and all tributaries of those rivers within the watershed—for potential addition to the national wild and scenic rivers system (i.e., adds new entry (147) to the congressionally designated study list in Section 5(a) of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act). It further directs the Secretary of the Interior to complete a study of these segments and submit a report to the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources and the House Committee on Natural Resources not later than three years after funds are made available (i.e., adds new paragraph (24) to Section 5(b) of the act).
