H.R. 5950 — Keep SNAP and WIC Funded Act of 2025

This section appropriates such sums as necessary from the Treasury for FY2026 to disburse uninterrupted benefits under (1) the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, i.e., food assistance for low-income households under the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008, 7 U.S.C. 2011 et seq.); (2) consolidated block grants under SNAP (7 U.S.C. 2028); and (3) the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC, i.e., supplemental foods and nutrition education for pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to age five from low-income families at nutritional risk, 42 U.S.C. 1786), during any lapse in Department of Agriculture appropriations. The appropriations apply retroactively from September 30, 2025, through enactment of this Act; remain available until enactment of FY2026 appropriations or September 30, 2026; reimburse state agencies for costs incurred during lapses if programs were operated in accordance with federal law; and are charged to applicable future appropriations.
