H.R. 5977 — Common Repository for Small Businesses Act

This section requires the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Industrial Base Policy to establish, not later than 90 days after the date of enactment, a repository of information commonly required for the initial vetting by the Department of Defense (DoD) of contractors applying to supply products or services to DoD. The Assistant Secretary must develop the repository in conjunction with or as part of efforts by the DoD Office of Small Business Programs to provide market research, supply chain resiliency, cybersecurity, and secure cloud tools to entities furnishing procurement technical assistance under chapter 388 of title 10, United States Code (i.e., Procurement Technical Assistance Program), and small manufacturers; the Assistant Secretary may enter into public-private partnerships or cooperative agreements with one or more DoD contractors if doing so would reduce duplicative efforts or time spent by potential suppliers providing similar information to multiple prime contractors or streamline and reduce the cost of qualifying suppliers for DoD products or services.
