H.R. 5996 — Veterans Healthcare Improvement Act

This section directs the Comptroller General, for each of FY2026 through FY2028, to review the budget requests for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) medical care accounts—(1) Medical Services, (2) Medical Support and Compliance, (3) Medical Facilities, and (4) Medical Community Care of the Veterans Health Administration—in the President's budget submission under 31 U.S.C. 1105 and to submit report(s) on the results to the Senate and House Committees on Veterans’ Affairs, Appropriations, and the Budget. The Comptroller General shall consult with the Committees on Veterans’ Affairs on the timing and scope of the reports.
