H.R. 6026 — To direct the Secretary of Veterans Affairs and the Secretary of Education to submit a report on the availability, accessibility, and affordability of childcare for veteran families.

This section directs the Secretary of Veterans Affairs and the Secretary of Education to submit to Congress, not later than 180 days after the date of enactment of this Act, a joint report on the availability, accessibility, and affordability of childcare for veteran families (i.e., very low-income veteran families occupying permanent housing eligible for supportive services under 38 U.S.C. 2044). The report must include (1) an assessment of childcare options available to veteran families as of the submission date, (2) identification of gaps in such options, and (3) an evaluation of barriers including cost, geographic distance, and eligibility criteria.
