§2. Prohibition of Federal funds for certain immigration-related services
This section prohibits federal funds from being awarded to non-governmental organizations for (1) legal services related to immigration proceedings (i.e., representation, advice, or document preparation for immigration applications, petitions, removal proceedings, or related processes); (2) housing, sheltering, or providing accommodations to aliens present without lawful status under the immigration laws; or (3) transporting individuals who entered the United States in violation of the immigration laws. The prohibition does not apply to services for minors (i.e., aliens under 18 years old). This section further prohibits the Department of the Interior from administering, managing, or contracting for such services or for migrant resettlement, immigration enforcement, or immigration legal representation, and it requires agency heads to ensure non-governmental organization compliance, with the prohibitions applying to grants, awards, contracts, or agreements entered on or after enactment.
