H.R. 6097 — Transition Improvement by Estimating Risk Act of 2025

This section expands the factors to be considered in designing individualized transition pathways under the Transition Assistance Program (TAP)—which provides pre-separation counseling and post-separation services to separating servicemembers—by adding four new factors after subparagraph (L) and redesignating existing subparagraph (M) as (Q). The new factors are (1) child care requirements of the member (including whether a dependent is enrolled in the Exceptional Family Member Program); (2) employment status of other adults in the member's household; (3) location of the member's duty station (including whether the member was separated from family while on duty); and (4) effects of operating tempo and personnel tempo on the member and the member's household.
