H.R. 6103 — LAB Personnel Act of 2025

This section exempts the Drug Enforcement Administration's (DEA) laboratory workforce from hiring freezes or reductions related to spending cuts, reprogramming of funds, or employee probationary status. The laboratory workforce includes positions at DEA forensic laboratories—such as forensic chemists, fingerprint specialists, digital forensic examiners, and other lab personnel—and positions at other locations scheduled for relocation to labs under construction or finalization as of enactment. (This exemption does not restrict the Attorney General's authority to manage the Department of Justice workforce for misconduct or poor performance.)
